Six Ways to Style a Boiler Suit

Boiler Suit Style

One of my absolute favourite pieces for easy style is a boiler suit. It's a more utility style version of a jumpsuit, and it's the perfect piece to show some individuality and cool-girl style. But much like the dress, the question is, how do you style this one piece in a way that shows personality and a vibe? Here are six ways you can style your boiler suit for every season.

1. Statement Belt and Tie-Up Sandals

Add a statement belt to add structure to the overall silhouette. A structured belt bag will also have the same effect. Then tie up your sandals over the top of the hem of the jumpsuit to keep it current. Slick accessories tie it all together. I love this one from the Frankie Shop.

2. Khaki or Denim Boiler Suit with White T-shirt & Trainers

Such a fresh and casual way to style your boiler suit. Unbutton your jumpsuit to the waist, roll up the sleeves, pop the collar and add a long chain necklace to finish it off perfectly. This works especially well with utility style jumpsuits and denim jumpsuits. A variation on this style is to swap out the white t-shirt for a breton stripe t-shirt. Sunglasses are mandatory.

3. Layer a Turtle Neck Underneath

For something more sophisticated, layer your boiler suit in cooler weather with a turtle neck underneath. Try monochrome for a powerful look, with accents of colour in your accessories - but keep them strong. Ankle boots are the perfect accompaniment for your boiler suit come autumn/winter.

4. Statement Colour Jumpsuit with Contrasting Accessories

Choose a boiler suit in a statement colour, and team it with contrasting or even tonal coloured accessories that really stand out. Other colour combinations to think about are pink and green, blue and green, mauve and yellow. The more colour, and the more interesting the contrast, the better.

5. All The Layers

In the cooler months, wear your boiler suit with all the layers: t-shirt or knit underneath, long cardigan over the top, chunky boots, and co-ordinating handbag. Toasty.

6. With Sharp Accessories

Keep it simple but elevate a casual boiler suit with slick, sharp accessories like killer heels and a statement handbag. The key is that the accessories need to be excellent quality and structured.
